Fire Grilled Romaneso

Romanesco cauliflower is one of the most beautiful vegetables around! It’s green spiral florets invite you to get a closer look.

Try these Romanesco “steaks” at your Labor Day backyard BBQ.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large head of Romanesco cauliflower

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut Romanesco lengthwise in one inch steaks

  2. Rub oil all over steaks and sprinkle salt and pepper to taste

  3. Place steaks over a medium flame on your grill. Cook approx 5 minutes each side. The flavor will really come out by getting a nice caramel color on that Romanesco.

  4. Take off of grill. Eat immediately.

Alternatively, if you don’t have a grill, try putting the steaks on a cooking sheet and place under your oven broiler.
